In 47 days, through a campaign which included 329 blood drives in more than 150 cities across Latin America, the United States and Europe, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace once again called on activists and volunteers, seeking to promote a culture of voluntary and regular blood donation as the foundation of all national blood systems.

Bucaramanga, the capital city of the department of Santander, also participated in the 3^rd International Blood Donation Marathon of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace by carrying out a blood drive in conjunction with the Higuera Escalante Blood Bank on Friday, April 25.

For the month of April, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace assembled the 3rd International Blood Drive. On this occasion, 20 countries joined this campaign in order to create, in their fellow citizens, a culture of voluntary and habitual blood donation.

The voluntary activists in Ecuador, in coordination with the Ecuadorian Red Cross, developed events in the cities of Quito, Guayaquil, Riobamba and El Coca, on April 24, 25 and 26, and May 2, 2014, respectively; obtaining 1,121 effective blood pints.
