Third Blood Drive: “Life is in the Blood” was successfully accomplished in the Dominican Republic

During the month of April 2014, the Third Voluntary Blood Drive: “Life is in the Blood” was held by the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace.

Volunteers and activists from National District and Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic joined this international drive the 8th and 9th of the past month under the Dominican coordination of the Global Embassy, in conjunction with the Vice-Rector of Extension from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), Primate of the Americas, and the Dominican Red Cross.

For the month of April, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace assembled the 3rd International Blood Drive. On this occasion, 20 countries joined this campaign in order to create, in their fellow citizens, a culture of voluntary and habitual blood donation.

The voluntary activists in Ecuador, in coordination with the Ecuadorian Red Cross, developed events in the cities of Quito, Guayaquil, Riobamba and El Coca, on April 24, 25 and 26, and May 2, 2014, respectively; obtaining 1,121 effective blood pints.

The great Colombian peninsula also participated in the 3rd International Blood Donation Marathon by carrying out a blood drive in the city of Maicao on April 8, 2014, in which 83 effective blood units were collected.
