Argentina

On the occasion of the celebration of Inti Raymi (Fiesta del Sol) in memory of its millenary origin and cradle of the great Inca civilization, the Cosquín Directorate of Environmental Management, invited the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) to participate in this event held in the Archaeological Park Puerta del Sol, Argentina.

The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) works continuously on behalf of indigenous peoples through the International Program “Children of Mother Earth.”

The Inti Raymi is an Inca ceremony that takes place since June 1994 in Ecuador, Colombia, Peru and northern Argentina.

The activity was attended by 50 people, including representatives of indigenous peoples such as Gerónima Maza (Wichí) and the curaca of the Comechingona de la Toma community, Hugo Acevedo. Mayor Gabriel Musso and the Coordinator of Environmental Management, Matías Terán, also participated.

As part of the act, the recovery of the archaeological replica located in the Buena Vista neighborhood was carried out; in addition, symbolic offerings were presented to the Pachamama (Mother Earth) as an act of gratitude for her kindness.
