Colombian government authorities issued 180 resolutions, including 11 decrees and a proposition to support of the Proclamation of the Constitution of the Rights of Mother Earth, promoted by the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) through the International Program Children of the Mother Earth.

From May 23 to August 31, GEAP volunteers in Colombia visited 171 municipalities in 19 departments of the country, to present to leaders the document that promotes the recognition of Mother Earth as a living being and her inalienable rights.

26 municipal councils, 4 associations of indigenous councils, 2 departmental assemblies and a secretariat of environment, formalized the documents in plenary sessions and public events, where 1825 people participated between governors and civil society. Cultural, youth and media groups also joined the proposal. (See: List of resolutions and decrees approved by government entities in Colombia)

The GEAP works for the worldwide recognition of Mother Earth as a living being and the proclamation of the constitution of her rights, as the basis for the establishment of a solid governance and universal environmental justice.
