Activists strengthen a culture of solidarity at the University of Guadalajara

In the University Center of the North (CUNORTE) and in the Regional Preparatory of Ocotlán, institutions belonging to the University of Guadalajara (UDG), the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Mexico, gave educational awareness sessions to 881 members of the student community to contribute to the formation of a culture of voluntary donation of safe blood.

The activities were carried out as part of the Integral Program: Life is in the Blood, in coordination with the Sangre de León campaign, led by the Federation of University Students (FEU) that has the support of the State Center for Blood Transfusion (CETS) ).

Michel Nuño, student of the UDG and representative of the campaign indicated that the work they perform is in benefit of children with cancer of the Red Nose Foundation. He also stressed that the state of Jalisco is ranked No. 24 in terms of voluntary blood donations, which motivates them to connect more people to this cause

For his part, Alberto Martínez on behalf of the GEAP thanked the students who assumed a commitment to the Communicational Education Program for the formation of a culture of voluntary, altruistic and regular donation of safe blood (PEC VIDA).

The GEAP aims to form a voluntary culture of blood donation, strengthening positive values related to this altruistic act (kindness, solidarity, fraternity and responsibility) to turn young people into regular blood donors, and in turn, into promoters of blood donation among family and friends.
