The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP), in coordination with the Servicios Mutuos Blood Bank of Puerto Rico, carried out the 4th International Blood Drive Marathon, “Life is in the Blood” in various cities of Puerto Rico, during the month of October. 

To continue with the mission of creating a culture of regular and voluntary blood donation, the GEAP, with the Blood Bank of Catalunya, installed a mobile unit in the theatre of the Civic Center of San Pedro and San Pablo of the city of Tarragona, last Friday, January 16. 

“At the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace we consider that it is necessary that each citizen has the opportunity to obtain safe and free blood when needed to enjoy the right to health and medical assistance.”

Excellent teamwork, good relationships with public and private entities, and a large amount of volunteers, have allowed the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) to reach a figure of 7,786 (seven thousand seven hundred eighty-six) effective donations during the 4^th International Blood Drive Marathon "Life is in the Blood: in Venezuela. Which meant a 190% increase of the figures obtained in the 3^rd marathon carried out during the month of April 2014.

Surpassing epidemical emergencies in this country

During October and November of 2014, El Salvador surpassed the epidemical emergencies and participated with the Activists for Peace, of the 4^thInternational Blood Drive Marathon, as part of the project “Life is in the Blood”, of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace, demonstrating solidary values and love for others when they need it the most.

More participation from Peruvian citizens

Five cities in Peru participated (in a massive way) during the 4th International Blood Drive Marathon "Life is in the Blood," which was organized by the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP), collecting 570 effective units during the month of October 2014, sowing values that help the individual to become a better citizen.

The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) worked hard throughout the Mexican territory with the 4^th International Blood Drive Marathon, achieving recognition form national health authorities for the results obtained from 8,048 sensitized people and volunteers, who came to donate in the different centers designed for that, obtaining a total of 4,612 units of blood, which means health benefits for 18,448 patients at risk.
