This session promotes the strengthening of universal and national justice for peace, as well as the recognition and respect for dignity and human rights.

Ana María Figueroa

Doctor Figueroa currently serves as the Judge President of the Federal Criminal Appeals Court of Argentina.

She is a Doctor of Juridical and Social Sciences; Doctor of Law; Ordinary Professor of Constitutional Law of the Law Faculty of the National University of Rosario, an academic and lawyer that practiced free law during her studies in Rosario, Province of Santa Fe. She is also recognized for her work in the human rights field, including those relating to crimes against humanity and protection of gender rights.


Martín Augusto Arias Duval

Lawyer. Professor of the Policies and Migration Management Program at the National University of Tres de Febrero; Adjunct Professor of Criminal Procedural Law at the Inter-American Open University, among others.

Undersecretary of Security of the Ministry of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires in 2007. Judge of the Criminal Court No. 3 of the Quilmes Judicial Department of the Judicial Branch of the Province of Buenos Aires and Secretary of the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 5 (1993-1999).

The Judicial Session of CUMIPAZ 2015 continued its deliberations on a topic which is becoming increasingly relevant in the foreign policy of many countries, and it refers to the role that the United Nations Organization fulfils in maintaining the peace and security of the nations and among the nations, with the participation of four lecturers from Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica and Argentina. The moderator of the second table was Dr. Gladys Edilma Teran Sierra, Judge of the National Court of Justice from Ecuador.
