Promotional campaigns increases the gaining of potential blood donors
The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Uruguay, developed promotional campaigns under the Integral Program: “Life is in the Blood”, in the city of Artigas; event which had the participation of the Activists for peace.
The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Uruguay, developed promotional campaigns under the Integral Program: “Life is in the Blood”, in the city of Artigas; event which had the participation of the Activists for peace.
These campaigns allow the citizens to obtain information about this altruist act that benefits society, and increases the gaining of potential blood donors and reaffirms the voluntary donors.
The GEAP through these actions has as goal to motivate people to be a part of those anonymous heroes that save the lives of other people. Likewise, to guarantee that health centers have this vital liquid available for those people in need of a blood transfusion.
Solidary Marathons
On February 17, the marathon was carried out in the Barrio Exodo, where 150 habitants of the zone received information about the benefits of donating blood and the necessary requisites to be part of this solidary act. The activity had the support of the volunteers of the GEAP of Misiones, Argentina.
The Activists for peace, on February 18, focused on the Paseo Los Feriantes and the Plaza Beatle, where they informed more than 120 citizens on the importance of being a voluntary and regular blood donor.
To end with the talks, on February 9, the route was the Plaza de Deportes and Paseo 7 de Septiembre. This marathon was carried out with the Blood Bank of the Hospital de Artigas.
The citizens received informative brochures on blood donation and were invited to the marathons that will be carried out under the framework of the 9th International Blood Drive Marathon “Life is in the Blood”.

The GEAP in Uruguay has planned the blood drive marathons in different cities of the country, to offer to the citizens the opportunity of carrying out the voluntary and altruist act of blood donation.
