World Blood Donor Day

In the city of Lynn, State of Massachusetts, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in the United States celebrated World Blood Donor Day, with the purpose of recognizing the anonymous heroes who save the lives of people who they need a blood transfusion.

During the development of the activity a blood drive was held, where 90 people participated, obtaining as a result a total of 41 units of blood that were destined to the patients of the Children's Hospital of Boston.

The event was organized by the GEAP volunteers, through the Integral Program "Life is in the Blood", and had the support of the Children's Hospital of Boston; also attended by representatives of educational institutes, State officials and Edward Blake, deputy head of the Lynn Police Department.

Recognition of altruistic work

Maureen Zuzevich, in charge of the blood donation center, indicated that through the blood donation campaigns developed by the GEAP, blood banks can be supplied.

For his part, Brendan Crighton, state representative of District 11, said that the satisfaction of donating blood is to see how communities unite with this act of love.

During the activity, the Kipp Academy Lynn Collegiate school received recognition for the altruistic work it does for the benefit of society.
