Activists for the Peace of the United States recognize altruistic work
With the holding of blood drives in six cities, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in the United States joined the World Blood Donor Day celebrated by the World Health Organization (WHO) every June 14.
During the celebration, 35 regular blood donors received recognition for the altruistic work they carry out throughout the year in favor of society. Likewise, 1,000 people received information on the benefits of this solidarity act and a total of 96 effective units of safe blood was the result of the conference.
Blood drives for a culture of solidarity
In the metropolitan area, activists recognized 22 volunteer donors. In Boston, a blood drive was held, and 13 citizens received a certificate for their valuable contribution.
In Aurora, Illinois, the GEAP participated in the Health Fair with a day of awareness where more than 100 people learned about this act of solidarity. In Miami, Florida, with a tour of the streets and beaches of the town, Activists gave short talks to passersby about blood donation.
