He is currently President at the Camilo José Cela University. Previously he was dean at IE University; Associate Dean at IE Business School; professor at San Jorge University; researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid; Telefónica Media project manager, among other positions.
His areas of specialty and professional interest are: curricular innovation, talent management, the generation of values, international development and social impact.
At the training level, he holds a PhD in Communication (with Extraordinary Prize), Universidad Complutense de Madrid; He holds a master's degree in Journalism, from El País-Universidad Autónoma de Madrid; and studies in History, Politics and Management by Lunds Universitet (Sweden).
He has specialized courses in leadership, management and research at: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Oxford, University of Pennsylvania, The University of Chicago, LSE and United Nations University (UNU), thanks to scholarships granted by the Caja Madrid Foundation, Rafael del Pino Foundation and Ramón Areces Foundation.
Samuel Martin Barbero has been an active member of the Global Agenda Council (GAC) in Informed Societies and in the Knowledge Advisory Board, both belonging to the World Economic Forum (WEF, in Switzerland), as well as member of the Board of Directors of DIRCOM (Spanish Association of Communication Directors).
