Saving lives! The GEAP honors Salvadoran anonymous heroes
With the aim of recognizing the solidarity action of anonymous heroes who save lives, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in El Salvador, together with the Salvadoran Institute for the Integral Development of Children and Adolescents (ISNA), celebrated World Blood Donor Day.
The event was held at the ISNA headquarters in Colonia Costa Rica, San Salvador, and was attended by the employees of Soyapango and Santa Ana. Also in attendance was Samuel Escobar, national coordinator of the GEAP; Walesska Figueroa, promoter of the Integral Program Life is in the Blood and a delegation of activists for peace.
The opening words of the event were in charge of Diana Cortez, head of the human talent department at ISNA, who thanked the GEAP for promoting a culture of voluntary, altruistic and habitual donation of safe blood in the institution.
For their part, the GEAP invited all attendees to participate in the 11th International Blood Drive Marathon "With love from my heart I donate blood and save lives", which runs throughout the month of June in more than 20 countries.

Life testimony
As part of the celebration, the testimony of Nestor Ortega was presented, who was subjected to a surgical intervention. In his dissertation, he expressed his gratitude to all the workers of this institution, who voluntarily donated blood to save his life.
Similarly, Oscar Palomo, on behalf of his father, expressed his gratitude to all ISNA staff for managing the blood units needed to perform the medical procedure on his family member. Palomo, took the opportunity to invite all Salvadorans to join this work that saves the lives of many people.
Solidary team
The activity ended with different recreational activities, the participation of the activist Betsabet Quezada, vocalist, and the delivery of recognition's to all those people who are part of the team of voluntary and regular donors of safe blood of the ISNA.
