Record figure in Venezuela: More than three thousand blood units in the 3rd Marathon “Donating the Sap of Life”

Thanks to the effort of hundreds of volunteers of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace, the health institutions of the Government of Venezuela and other public and private entities, it was possible to achieve a record figure in national blood donations, with a total of 3,600 effective units, under the framework of the 3rd International Marathon “Donating the Sap of Life”, in April 2014.

An unfolding of good will was reflected throughout April in Venezuela, despite the social and political situations they go through. However, the conscience of solidarity was present in the citizens of the country, doubling the number obtained in the last marathon carried out in October 2013.

The support of the Government of Venezuela with their health institutions were crucial on this occasion to increase these numbers. There is already talk to start to organize in May the next international blood drive marathon, where the goal will be to triple the numbers obtained, by doing a greater national event.
