Blood Bank thanks the work of Dr. William Soto in Peru, Blood Donation Marathon under the project “Life is in the Blood”

Peru

In the northern city of Chiclayo, Peru, the Activists for peace carried out a blood donation marathon under the project “Life is in the Blood”, last March 31st, 2015, in the Hospital Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo; which gave 30 effective blood units as result.

The marathon was developed in coordination with the Blood Bank of the hospital, thanks to the support of the Head of this unit, Dr. Tony Farias, who extended his gratitude to the Global Ambassador and Activist for Peace, Dr. William Soto Santiago, for his valuable work in favor of the formation of a voluntary and regular blood donation culture, highlighting that this contributes significantly to the creation of a peace culture in Peru and the world.

The effective blood units collected in this marathon were destined to the Oncology area of the Hospital, for patients in a state of emergency that do not have the resources to obtain this vital liquid with the immediacy required; and through this contribution of life from the donors, since it is voluntary and unpaid, the recovery of these people in need of this vital liquid was contributed.

In the development of the project “Life is in the Blood”, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace is carrying out continuous blood drives in different countries, with the purpose of increasing the formation of a voluntary and habitual culture of blood donation, which is directly related with stocking the blood banks and clinics, through effective blood units, essential for human life.
