Athletes participate in lecture on a culture of voluntary blood donation
The events room in the NH Collection Hotel in Monterrey, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Mexico and the Guerrrero del Club Santos Laguna, organized an event under the Integral Program: Life is in the Blood.
The activity counted with the presence of Emiliano Armenteros, Gael Sandoval and Osvaldo Martinez, members of the Club Santos Laguna; Guillermos Gomez, national coordinator of the program “Life is in the Blood” and Magdalena Soto, coordinator of the program in Monterrey attended the event on behalf of the GEAP.
With the objective of promoting a culture of voluntary, altruistic and habitual safe blood donation in society, the Activists for Peace gave an informative speech that was accompanied by motivational dynamics.
Donate blood
More than 70 people, between athletes and fans of the Torreon Club, Coahuila learned of the following subjects:
- The benefits of being a blood donor.
- The importance of participating in the International Marathons and blood drives that the GEAP holds twice a year.
- Why it is necessary to maintain blood banks stocked, among others.
A solidary path
Osvaldo Martinez, official play of the club, said during his participation that it is necessary to join this project that the GEAP carries out and make it known, because it is of great importance for every citizen.
“I support these kinds of lectures, because there are many people in need that sometimes we cannot help; but what the GEAP does is correct, I believe that. We have only come to support what you are doing everywhere”, he said.
The event that sensitized a group of people that will form part of this social labor that helps the human family came to an end with the delivery of recognitions from behalf of the GEAP to the representatives of the Club Santos Laguna and the special guests.
