Gabriela Lara | Act of Installation in the Science Session, CUMIPAZ 2017

My best regards to Emilio Sempris, environmental Minister of Panama, Dr. Mariam Wallet, President of the UN 16th permanent forum on indigenous peoples, Mr. Leo Heiderman, environmental Director of the UN for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mr. Feliciano Jimenez, Vice Minister of Panama’s indigenous peoples, all the national and international guests. May you all have a good morning and thank you very much for being here.

On behalf of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace and on behalf of its international director, its President Dr. William Soto Santiago, we want to thank the Government of Panama for the institutional help given through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the tourism authority and also through the Legislative Assembly of Panama.

Our gratitude and gratefulness to all the panelists and guests for coming to Panama City, and for their dispositions to contribute practical, effective, and viable solutions during this Summit, towards finding solutions for the great challenges that our world confronts in this 21st Century.

We firmly believe that your efforts will be rewarded when your proposals are implemented in different countries.

On behalf of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace, under the frame of the Peace Integration Summit here in Panama, we want to present the Session: Science; for the Preservation of the Life of the Human Being and Mother Earth”.

The purpose of this session is to create a public space where scientists, investigators, humanists, professors, scholars and representatives of indigenous people can present and make known their advances, discoveries, investigations, and knowledge in the field of science and technology, but above all, the ancestral knowledge of our indigenous peoples.

This session pretends to integrate, synchronize and promote this alternative knowledge from science, technology, and indigenous peoples with the sole purpose of preserving the life of humanity and Mother Earth, and this is fully based on the environmental reality that humanity is currently going through in our social and economic setting, taking into account the respect of universal values and Human Rights.

Finally, we expect that with this session we can consolidate a global network for the preservation of Mother Earth were the pillars and actors of society can participate in the construction of peace, happiness, and preservation of the life of human beings and Mother Earth.

I leave you with a few words of our president, Dr. William Soto Santiago, who could not be here because of a health situation, but through a video, he will officially open the Session: Science for the Preservation of the Life of the Human Being and Mother Earth”.

Thank you very much.
