With the aim of building a culture of peace through quality education, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Tabasco, Mexico, signed an agreement with the Technological University of Tabasco (UTTAB).
The agreement between UTTAB and the International Alliance of Universities for Peace (ALIUP), aims to promote the appreciation of peace as a universal value, the development of projects, the creation of networks of institutions, professionals and students to promote a culture of peace and human rights.
The agreement was made with the presence of directors of the UTTAB in the dean facilities of the institution. The dean of the house of studies, Fernando Calzada, in his words of welcome expressed:
"We are working towards the same goals. Our institution has outlined a clear quality policy, where values are fundamental and we develop our efforts to promote them ", he concluded.
For human rights
For its part, Guillermo Robles, ALIUP representative in Tabasco, highlighted the objective of the project:
"ALIUP aims to develop proposals for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and respect for human rights in teaching, research and extensions of higher education. Young people have the ability to provide ideas for conflict resolution; that the youth can contribute, that their voice be heard, "he said.
At the end of the event, the agreement was signed in the presence of UTTAB managers and GEAP volunteers, committing themselves to having the International Alliance of Universities for Peace as the first project to develop in this institution.
