Fairs for Mother Earth: Actions aimed at caring for the environment
The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Virginia, Maryland New York, Illinois and Florida, and in the capital of the United States, Washington DC, celebrated World Environment Education Day during January and February.
The activists for peace under the Social Program Children of Mother Earth carried out Fairs for the Peace of Mother Earth in schools, churches, community salons and outside spaces where more than one thousand people received recommendations on how to care for the environment.
The educational talks were given through four modules, which were made with recycled materials, and the exhibition “I love you, Mother Earth”, presented a numerous amount of drawings which the children dedicated to the environment.
A living being
The topics given promoted the universal recognition of Mother Earth as a living being through the discussion of the proposal of the ambassador of peace, William Soto Santiago, on the Universal Proclamation of the Rights of Mother Earth.
At the same time, they presented the International Program Children of Mother Earth, is project areas and action fields; as well as the 5R’s (Recycle, Reduce, Reuse, Refuse, and Re-educate). Also, the promoted the Environmental Movement “Guardians for the Peace of Mother Earth” and the brigades it is made up of.
