Exhibition on the Holocaust in the City of Besalu, Girona, Spain

The GEAP presented the Photographic Exhibition “Educating to Remember – The Holocaust, Paradigm of Genocide”, from February 28 to March 7, in celebration of the Jewish Week held in the “Antic Hospital de Sant Julia” Hall, located at the City Hall of Besalu in the province of Girona.

Deputy Mayor Josefina Surina Gelis was in charge of the inauguration of this celebration, who thanked and highlighted the work undertaken by the GEAP in educating for peace and the promotion of tolerance, respect, love of life and neighborly love.

It is worth noting that during the 7 exhibition days more than 600 people not only observed the 180 displayed images, but were also briefed on the universal teachings the Holocaust left.

In addition to the photo gallery, an educational video on the Holocaust was projected and repeated constantly at different times. This exhibition served as a space for reflection to gauge what this unfortunate event was and at the same time, created awareness in the participants to be alert to any signs of a genocidal repetition.
