Cities of the U.S.A. participated in the First Educational Forum: Blood Drive University

Coordinators and Activists of the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) from different cities of U.S.A., such as Austin, Boston, Dallas, San Marcos, Oklahoma, among others, were present in Houston, Texas, on May 21, 2015, during the First Educational Forum: “Blood Drive University” under the project “Life is in the Blood”, promoted by the GEAP and the installations of Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, with the purpose of becoming recruitment professionals in blood donors, in health and marketing techniques, with new ideas and motivation, in order to consider blood donation as a solidary, civic, responsible and regular act, that contributes towards guaranteeing safe, available good quality blood to each person that needs it.

With the special participation of the General Consulate of Mexico in Houston, Texas, Oscar Ricardo Solis Flores, who highlighted the importance of the work the GEAP carries out and confirmed his compromise on these blood donation campaigns, through the programs he develops with the Mexican nation. Also, Mr. Steve Bolton, vice-president of the Association of Donor Recruitment Professionals (ADRP), international organization dedicated to the entertainment of the staff of Blood Banks, was present.

In this regard, those participating in this First Forum, walked around the installations of the Blood Bank, where they could witness the process that a pint of blood from a donation receives, until it is ready to be used by the beneficiary who needs it. In this way the marathon ended with the presentation of certificates to the participants for their collaboration and disposition as volunteers for peace.
