In Brazil: Citizens declare themselves Guardians of Mother Earth
The Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Brazil, through regional coordination in Hortolândia, state of São Paulo, celebrated World Earth Day (April 22) and National Indian Day (April 19) with educational exhibits on the importance of caring for the environment for the continuity of life on Earth.
The activities were carried out with the purpose of promoting the recognition of Mother Earth as a living being. The Fundamental Education School “EMEF Jardim Boa Esperança” opened its doors to welcome volunteers from the GEAP.
For their part, the teachers of the educational institution participated, were aware of the importance of the themes presented by the Activists for Peace, who dictated a talk for the restoration in favor of nature.
Active participation
511 people belonging to the student community (morning and afternoon shifts) witnessed the exhibitions that celebrated the life of Mother Earth. The talks were given through slides.
Within the framework of the celebration of the environmental events, the indigenous peoples were given importance, who maintain in practice the knowledge, traditions and knowledge for a harmonious and peaceful coexistence, with respect for Mother Earth and for the conservation of her natural resources.
New custodians
Finally, the audience was declared as Guardians for the Peace of Mother Earth, repeating the first three articles of the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Mother Earth proposed by the GEAP.
