Activists for Peace in Panama continue to promote voluntary blood donation

Panama

Students of the University Regional Center of Veraguas participated in the marathons

With the purpose of promoting the voluntary, altruist and regular blood donation, the Global Embassy of Activists for Peace (GEAP) in Panama, organized marathons for blood collection at the University Regional Center of Veraguas (CRUV), city of Santiago.

The marathons that were carried out for two days are part of an action of the Campaign “Life is in the Blood” developed by the GEAP in Latin American, United States and Spain to encourage the citizens’ participation in the voluntary donation to supply the blood banks.

The Activists for Peace gave educative talks to the students about the significance of blood donation, promoting it as the biggest act of love between human beings and as a responsible action that helps to have a healthy life.

After receiving the information, the university students and other participants gave their voluntary contribution of life.

The GEAP worked in coordination with the Blood Bank of the Luis Chicho Fabrega Hospital, entity in charge of the evaluation process of the volunteers and the blood extraction.

The coordinate outreach and the Nursing Faculty of the CRUV supported the marathons.

This regional movement seeks to add volunteers for life towards the 8th International Blood Donation Marathon to be held next November.
