Ciro Felipe Zabala is president of the Commission for Social Policy, Education and Health of the Senate of Bolivia. He was president of the Departmental Federation of Hospital Directors (1990-1992), general secretary of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (1997), executive director of the Health and Strengthening Program PSF - IDB (1997-2000), among other positions.
He is a surgeon, specializing in the area of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology graduated from the IGBJ - TOHO University in Tokyo, Japan; and a specialist in Education in the Health Area.
Ciro has a Master's Degree in University Management and a Diploma in New Information Communication Technologies (NICTs), awarded by the Universidad Mayor de San Simón and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
He served as vice president of the Bolivian Society of Gastroenterology and was a postgraduate instructor in Gastroenterology UMSS from (1981-1994 and 2006 to the present).
Author of specialized texts, among them: "First aid training unit for provincial doctors" (1978) and the Medical Residency Program for the Graduate of Gastroenterology (1986).
