Since November 1^st, 2005, date in which the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted Resolution 60/7, designating January 27 as the “Annual International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust,” the Honorable Senate at the request of the President of  the Parliament of the State of Israel, resolved, according to Resolution Number 705 of May 18, 2006, “adopt this date,” and together with the Consulate of Israel, the National Congress and the United Nations Office in Paraguay, organized a ceremony with the objective to educate on the tragedy of this genocide in Europe and of other massive assassinations which occurred in the history of humanity.
